Впервые приведены результаты исследований содержания твердых частиц PM1 - PM10 в атмосфере западного побережья южного Байкала с высоким временным разрешением. Установлено, что основными источниками поступления РМ в атмосферу южного Байкала являются как антропогенные, так и природные объекты. В зимний период увеличивается влияние объектов теплоэнергетики, о чем свидетельствуют синхронные повышения концентраций субмикронного аэрозоля РМ1 и диоксида серы. В летний период значительный вклад в загрязнение атмосферы твердыми частицами вносят удаленные лесные пожары. Выявлена связь между повышением концентрации РМ1 в атмосфере в исследуемом районе и мезометеорологическими особенностями (температурные инверсии и мезомасштабный перенос шлейфов от крупных ТЭЦ). Повышения концентраций РМ1 в большинстве случаев происходят в ночные и утренние часы, что связано с уменьшением толщины пограничного слоя атмосферы.
