Развит полуэмпирический метод построения функции дипольного момента молекул NO и CO в виде кусочно-непрерывной функции, которая обладает физически правильным асимптотическим поведением при малых и больших межъядерных расстояниях и совпадает с функцией дипольного момента в окрестности равновесного положения ядер молекулы. В рамках данного метода учет мультипольного и обменного взаимодействий позволил более корректно описать поведение функции дипольного момента при больших межъядерных расстояниях, включая область малого перекрывания электронных оболочек взаимодействующих атомов.
