Abstract:
An overview is presented of the EVROTPAC program for monitoring of atmospheric pollution in Europe. It includes a discussion of the key aspects of the program: chemical transformation and transport of photo-oxidants (first of all, ozone) in the troposphere; processes leading to atmospheric acidification, particularly those involving aerosols and clouds; assimilation and emission of atmospheric trace gases by the biosphere.
