Expressions for light intensity in the area of thin opaque screen shadow are obtained based on experimentally determined existence of light beams deflection in the area of screen's edge and regularity characterizing deflections angles depending on distances between initial beams trajectories and screen's edge. Calculated shadow intensity is compared with its values from experiments and Fresnel theory. It is established that calculation results are in good agreement with the experimental ones in base part of shadow. The cause of difference between calculated and experimental values of the intensity near geometric shadow bound is explained.
