Abstract:
An algorithm for retrieving cloud cover parameters from multispectral radiometric digital data is described. It is shown that cloud type, fraction and depth, optical thickness, cloud-top temperature and height, can be obtained by a combined use of AVHRR measurements and theoretical calculations of the cloud radiation characteristics.
