Abstract:
Considered are major studies on the remote sounding of atmosphere, ocean, and underlying surface as carried out at the Institute of Electronics of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Special emphasis is laid on laser sounding of atmospheric aerosol. Prospects for monitoring the environment by different methods and instrumentation operative in microwave and optical spectral regions are outlined.
